When we did the unison prayer today, no one was in unison. Midway through I thought “screw it”—God and I have a rather casual and honest relationship— “this is just fine the way we are doing it.” Later people came up and thanked me for the prayer. It is for those of us who need Love with training wheels.
Dear God, while I believe in the Power of Love, sometimes I find loving difficult. Help me to send love to people when it would be easier for me to feel resentment or anger. Help me to love myself in those moments when I feel frustrated or not good enough. Help me to send love to the government or businesses when I am tempted to send thoughts of condemnation. Help me to love the world even when I may be feeling powerless. Help me to know that you always love me. Help me to know that my thoughts of Love really do create positive changes in my world. Amen
